Tradstocks launch new Heritage Setts

Tradstocks are pleased to announce the launch of a new natural stone product – Tradstocks Heritage Setts.

The Tradstocks Heritage Setts, which mimic the traditional Edinburgh setts, were supplied to Balfour Beatty as part of a significant order of natural stone products for the Melville Street and Crescent City Centre West to East Link (CCWEL) Public Realm project. We have now decided to add Tradstocks Heritage Setts to our core range of products. The Setts are quarried and produced by Tradstocks are are made of Scottish Whinstone.

Heritage Setts Included in design specification

Scottish Whinstone Heritage Setts, have been included within the design specification, along with Whinstone kerbs and Yorkstone paving for the much anticipated George Street regeneration project.  This will tie in with a larger project to regenerate Edinburgh’s New Town beginning with York Place and Charlotte Square.  Work is due to begin in the New Year (2026) with work on George Street scheduled to begin in late 2026.

Edinburgh’s NEW TOWN

Historic George Street and Charlotte Square, part of the New Town Regeneration Project.

As a UNESCO World Heritage site, It’s pleasing to see this attention to detail when selecting materials to match those originally used when construction of the the New Town began over 200 years ago.

A LOW CARBON OPTION

Due to the fact the natural stone is quarried and processed locally by Tradstocks, our Heritage Setts provide a low carbon option compared to imported stone. Environmental Product Declarations are available for all our Scottish Whinstone products.
